It all started with an expensive college tuition and a dream to transform homes.

Our founder Gordon was faced with a major issue - affording an expensive college tuition at The University of Maryland. In order to pay his tuition, Gordon combined his love for remodeling homes with his natural aptitude for problem solving to start Optima Designs painting and home remodeling in 1973.
